The challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments was to make anything but a card. As we all know I am challenged by things out of the box, thus I have another scrapbook page to share!
This is kind of fun, because it is actually Cherry Blossom season up here right now! But alas...it is 2010 and those of you who enlarge the picture will note the date of April 2008. Yes, I am still 2 years behind...
For those interested in Japan, the pictures were taken at Hirosaki Castle. They have a big festival up there to celebrate the blossoms. Look at the fallen leaves in the water in the top picture...so beautiful!!! Festivals equal festival food, which in Japan is a variety of barbecued seafood and chicken, plus some yummy yakisoba. And the desserts...oh. my. gosh. I {heart} festival food!
At any rate, those who know my son in real life would describe him as a picky eater. As we were getting lunch that day, he ordered an octopus tentacle. Grilled. And ate it. With a thumbs up, no less! Craziness! And I spared you pictures of that...blech...but it is in the scrapbook!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies for the page are by CTMH and I used my Cricut for the font. :)

Wonderful scrapbook page and I love the pics of the cherry blossoms.
OMG...octopus tentacle???? Blech! Love this page, the pics are soooo pretty! Great layout too!
I love your layout. The colors and papers you chose are perfect. Japan is on my list of places to visit. Thank you for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
Genny
Mmm....octopus is good! :> :>
Your layout is beautiful, love the soft colors and gorgeous pics! The street leading to my street is lined in cherry blossom trees and its one of my favorite things about living here....love driving (or walking) down the street....its like going through pink clouds.......only problem is that I'm usually looking through swollen eyes with a tissue box attached to my face as after a few years, I finally realized that I'm really allergic to them (when 'they' said 'beauty hurts', I'm not sure this is what 'they' were referring to!!).
Oh yea...and two years behind?! Ah, that's nothin'! I'm way further behind, for sure. And I don't even have the excuse of a third kidlet and extra moves to use it as an excuse!
Please excuse me now as I go try to rummage up a good excuse to simmer down the panic rising over the number of pics waiting patiently to find a good home!!!
I miss the festival food soooo much... the colorful rows of chocolate covered bananas on a stick, the real deal yakisoba... yummm love your page, the cherry blossom festival at Hirosaki was so beautiful.
I think I told you before I'm three years behind so that should make you feel more ahead of the game (wink, wink). Love the simplicity and the pop of colors. So glad you came back to participate at Hand Stamped Sentiments. So cool to have "regulars", heehee.
CUTE Layout, I love the project and love that you continue to paly with us here at HSS!!
This is so pretty-the pics are gorgeous. You're going to miss Japan!!
What a great page, I love the cherry blossoms. I am lucky to see them every year in Washington, DC which is only a 40 min drive for me. I can't imagine how beautiful they are there in Japan!
Wonderful scrapbook page!
This is lovely! I love the pictures and the Cherry Blossoms are AMAZING!!!
These photos are gorgeous....I'm a sucker for flowers! And I can't believe your son ordered & ate octopus...I've always been a picky eater and that would not be happening from me!
Beautiful page! The pictures are beautiful. Sounds like the festival is a fun time.
