Please Critique

I just received my Bellas that I purchased during the free shipping weekend!! I fell in love with this one, called Minty Coffee. Isn't it an adorable image?? I just love Stamping Bella!!

I really, really wanted to use this mint green paper on the card. It actually is really old CM and has swirls on the paper...which I thought matched the steam! And I thought I wanted to keep somewhat true to Christmas colors. So...I picked my cardstock, colored the image and tried to put it together. It is just not doing it for me.

Is the embossing too much? I cuttlebugged the swirl paper...and used the holly on the red. Maybe instead of ribbon it needed brads?? Is my color scheme off? Maybe the Creamy Caramel needs a versamark somethin' somethin' on it?

In case you are noticing a trend with my layouts, I did not intentionally use SC183 again! I actually started with a whole other layout but it just did not work!

OK, so I need honest criticism. This is not like a "do I look fat" question! I really want to know...what do you think??

Stamps: Minty Coffee (Stamping Bella)

Ink: Vick Bantock Lamp Black by Ranger, Copics to color

Paper: Creamy Caramel, Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate, CM DSP, Georgia Pacific White

Accessories: Stickles, CB Embossing Folders (Holly, D'Vine Swirls)

Ok I hate to be the first because I am so bad at this! I love the card.... if you really wanted to change it though, you could try without the embossing in the back peice? I don't know talk about pressure!

This is a beautiful card! I love the colors you used for it. If I had to change it, it would be without the embossing (as Louise said) on the back layer. Perhaps if you added a brad or a couple of brads.

But overall, it is a really pretty card!

I think you did a really nice job with it. I really like it. I don't think I'd swap the ribbon for brads because I really like the ribbon with it, maybe just add some brads like Rachel said. I also agree with others about maybe not embossing the back layer, but until you mentioned it, I wouldn't have said so. You could also use some foam tape to pop up the top layer. I really like it though.

I love your card! I would like to see a few brads on the corner instead of the ribbon, since it is such a small space. Or you could tie the ribbon the other way.

I love it! After reading everyone's comments; I think that if you wanted to change it then don't emboss the leaf on the red layer or emboss it with the swirl to continue to steam idea. But I think it is great the way it is.

here is my honest critique of your card - it is simply beautiful.. i really like those colors together... the green and the carmel together soften the christmas feel - and I LOVE all the embossing.... even the back layer.... it adds a nice texture and feeling... the only thing I can think of is maybe a brad or two... or some dimensionals... but really it is just beautiful as is....

great colors - totally inspired me!!
best wishes,
Sankari :)
