SBG1 Challenge #5~The Pink Laundry

Yippee! It is my turn to host a challenge! So here it is:

Please make a card based on your inspiration after reading about Stephanie Vest and her "flair" for design! Yes, she had a bright pink laundry room complete with a zebra print ceiling!

Stephanie lost her battle with cancer on December 3rd. She leaves behind a husband and 3 young children. Her blog has continued on and people have posted how her story has inspired their lives. If you would like, you are welcome to post your creation there as well!

I will now share with you what I created and posted on her blog last month. It was incredibly well received, which always makes you feel warm inside!

Stamps: February Word Puzzle (CTMH), Wild About You (SU)
Paper: PTI White, Pixie Pink (SU), Black (CTMH), Zebra Print (Creative Memories)
Ink: Pixie Pink, Versafine Black
Accessories: CTMH Ribbon, Rhinestones. Clear EP

For this card, I used the black with a white core so I could sand it down. I felt like it was too stark next to the zebra print to have something totally solid and it added a "rugged" feel to the card. Keeping with that theme, I distressed the edges of the black layer on the image to give it dimension. I also used clear EP and heat embossed the heart.

Once you complete the challenge, please post it on your blog and leave me a comment with the link. I will use the random number thingy (is that word?) to pick a winner!! The challenge will end February 19th at 9 pm Japan time!! (ROTFL...now figure that one out! We are 14 hours ahead of EST.)

The prize?? Have I left out the best part? :) A canister of Holiday House Felt Winter pieces by American Crafts, some Japanese treats, and some BLING!!! Don't get too excited...it is card bling, but bling none-the-less!

Ok, girls, get creating! I cannot see what you come up with to help honor this wonderful lady's memory.

I will get to work on this challenge tomorrow night. That is a great laundry room, and what a woman. Hopefully I can come up with something good. Such a beautiful mom, I am heartbroken over her story. My kids are tiny, too, so I really think about how my family would go on if I were not here, that's a void noone else could fill. There's nothing like your mom, I guess. So, I will be praying for this family, and coming up with something.

PS...LOVE your card.

Ok, Siobhan. Check my blog out, I posted my creation for this challenge. However, I did a scrapbook page instead of a card, I need to be scrappin', and I have tons of cards with noone to give them to. Hope that's ok, and that you like what I did. Great challenge!
