Zoo Pages

It was an interesting weekend. DH came home on Friday and surprised the kids! He just showed up at the bus stop and was waiting when they got off the bus! Adorable...

The Cherry Blossoms have bloomed! Cherry Blossom viewing, or Hanami, is a BIG deal here. We planned to go out on Sunday, but woke up to 3 inches of snow. In April. Snow. Ugh. So, we hunkered down and I got to craft!

I have cropped 28 pages this month. I know! I am so proud of myself! I must admit though, after reading how far behind everyone else is, it makes me feel better! At least I am not alone!

Here are the pages I am going to share with you today. They were taken during a trip to the Morioka Zoo in Spring of 2007.

Paper: Expedition (CTMH), Making Memories solids and Wildlife line
Accessories: CTMH stickease, Cricut Zooballoo cartridge, SU corner punch

Thanks for looking! Hope you have a great week!

Spies Like Us

I have been on a scrapbooking kick lately. Quite frankly, I am 2 years behind and I *need* to get a move on! Plus, it uses up paper a lot faster than does card making! We all know I not desperate for paper!

I have come to the conclusion that I am a CAS scrapper. I never think to use a ton of embellishments on my pages. I think my inspiration comes mainly from "growing up" on Creative Memories. Additionally my friend Lisa introduced me to Becky Higgins sketches. How in the world did I not know about this hidden treasure??! At any rate, I find Becky Higgins more my style as well.

This set of pages is of my kids after attending a spy themed birthday party. My youngest, who was almost 2 at the time did NOT enjoy any part of the fake mustache. Try as I might, I could not get her to wear it above her lip!

Do you like my magnifying glass? LOL I made it on my Cricut using design studio! Circle plus a rectangle equals a piece for the spy page!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog!

My 100th Post

I actually wanted this post to be profound.

I started this blog with the intention of sharing some stories about my crazy life as well as some cards and scrapbook pages (with post-it notes substituting as my children's heads; I know, I am weird!). It only seems fitting that my 100th post would incorporate the two. Much to my dismay, I am too tired to upload a "project" tonight. Instead, you just get a story about a guy named Murphy and deployments...

Have I ever told you that my friend Christy's Dad calls me Murphy? Yeah, I am pretty into the whole Irish heritage thing...did the Irish Dancing before Riverdance made it popular, I have a VERY Irish name, I kissed the stone, but I digress...

Murphy's Law of Deployments #113: Your 3 year old will meticulously unroll and layer an entire roll of toilet paper into the toilet, flush it numerous times to get it down in there good, and then turn around and walk away like nothing is wrong only to have to find the little gift by chance.

I have no idea why I know this to be true. I also don't know why we do not own a plunger.

Hopefully I can muster the energy to post a project tomorrow night! I promise, it will have nothing to do with Charmin.

Not Notebooks!

I know you are pleased to see this is not another notebook post! Incidentally, I will disclose my 'source' for the kraft notebooks...drum roll please...the 100 yen store! That place rocks! I am sure going to miss it when we move...

Alright, on to the projects. Traditionally when the squadrons deploy, the spouses put together a deployment calendar. Each day, one page goes up at the Operations Desk. The military members really like it, as it brings a touch of home to a far away place. I made two pages for the calendar; one for DH from the kids and one generic layout for the squadron.

You will notice this page is very similar to the card I made here, but I thought it was so cute! And, the squadron colors are red and black, so how could I pass it up?

Now is the generic squadron version.

I actually cut the panther out on my own so I could give it some dimension with foam tape! I have blogged previously about my inability to cut things, thinking I should have to go back to kindergarten, but I actually did OK! No whiskers were lost in the adventure! I was wondering if the guys would think the panther was too blingy. I wanted to make it look fierce. I thought some fire in the eye would do it...and really shimmery teeth! Good ol' Stickles. Hopefully they won't see it as a drag queen panther!!

Thanks for visiting!
